Mob 40’s Return with Help from BWM Comics

by BWMComics | Apr 24, 2024

Arizona's greatest Hardcore band, Mob 40’s, are back (at least in audio form) with their anticipated self-titled album produced exclusively by Roger Merit of Agnostic Front, and released through May Cause Dizziness Records with a little help from BWM Comics.

Back in the olden days when Queen Kiki and I used to be cool kids hanging out at the local punk and goth shows spread throughout Metro-Phoenix’s vibrant nightlife on any given evening – while the times of good were busy being had, the friendships forged between every glass clink, every cymbal crash, every extended hangover – continue to be everlasting to this very day. Throughout our ol’ AZPunk years and beyond, the unique friendships we’ve cultivated have often led to some pretty cool creative collaborative projects, and Blackwater Market Comics & Coffee couldn’t be more honored to help create a much-anticipated record over 20 years in the making.

With the return of Mob 40’s (at least in audio form), along with benefiting the ears, hearts and turntables of Hardcore music lovers from all over the spectrum, Luke 40 and Nate from May Cause Dizziness Records decided to donate all proceeds from album’s sales to The American Cancer Society who has done so much to help their families, as well as so many families across the country. These tracks include old previously unreleased demos, and was originally recorded in Jersey City back In 1999. To finally have these tracks released into the wild after so long is a real time trip back to an extremely fun and influential time. Great music. Great dudes. Great cause. ‘Nuff said.

Arizona’s Kings of Hardcore – Mob 40’s – are one of the most hard hitting, greatest historic punk rock bands to ever come from the deserts of the Southwest. Godfathers of Phoenix’s new millenia hardcore punk scene from the late 90’s all throughout the bulk of 00’s, Mob 40’s tore the music scene up and down the great desert State. When my old band (West End Crooks) just got started playing the local rounds in the late 90s, Mob 40’s were always so cool to show us the ropes and let us little punk kids tag along to open for some of their gigs at the ol’ Bostons in Tempe & Double Zero in Tucson. Some of the best times playing music in my life has been spent opening for these guys. To get to be a part of creating this album is a genuine honor for me and BWM Comics. Local music boils through my veins, and has for most of my adult life. To have the opportunity to help create this album after moving away from my beautiful sun-drenched Hellhole is truly an honor, and I want to thank my buddies Luke 40 and Nate MCD for asking me to be a part of this project.

Wonderful place to order comics from, nice variety of books, exceptional customer service with orders- packaged securely, and if you're local they can hook you up with free delivery, usually the next day! The owners are very involved with local events as well, which makes them easy to support.

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Stumbled upon this site when I was trying to find a copy of Absolute Batman Vol 1. My copy arrived quickly and in amazing shape with a comic sleeve, sample comics, and some free stickers. Can't recommend this place enough!

Well boy howdy, we can't thank you enough, pardner! Knowing you landed in our little comics & coffee corner of the interwebs and found EXACTLY what you were hunting for? That’s the perfect bean in the brew right there. But on to more important topics... was that book awesome, or what?! Easily one of the strongest Batman arcs of 2025, and you better believe we’re planning to keep that trade series restocked and growing. Thanks for your very kind words, thanks for reminding us why we do this, and swing on back over anytime! PS. You may want to take a look at the *cough cough* second-to-last page *cough cough* of our digital brochure. Just sayin. ☕️🤪 https://tinyurl.com/bwmcomics-brochure-2025

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. This store only exists online and nobody actually runs it i tried reaching out to them with no prevail probably just another failed business

Owner's reply
Interesting take, and while you're correct that we're currently online only, we do try to answer every message, email, voicemail and outreach as quickly as possible. If voicemail doesn't catch us, email or the socials definitely will. I did a search for your details, and nothing came up, so maybe try reaching out again. As for failure, I suppose one would have to succeed at business first in order to fail, so for now, we'll just keep on roasting forward. ☕️

We are beyond grateful to you, Alex. Our corporate focus groups have advised us to zero-in heavily on the nostalgia flashback factor, which has positioned us to increase our research department's efforts in the "wait, is it my birthday?" chemical reaction within the human brain. We're pleased to see the fruits of those efforts take shape. Please share your experience with every single human you encounter in this lifetime henceforth, so that we may continue our quest for comics & coffee domination. ☕️

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. These guys are awesome! I went searching online for a very specific back issue I’d lost over the years. Blackwater Market came up as one of the only sources that had it in stock. It arrived earlier than expected and so well-packaged that, despite arriving in the rain, the contents of the package were pristine. To top it off, they threw in an additional issue for FREE, just because. (How cool?!) Thanks BWM team, I’ll definitely be back for more!

Owner's reply
Sam, thank you so much for the great feedback! Nothing can ruin a day quite as productively as when your shipped comics meet an unrequested rain storm, but hearing that our packaging stood up to the test fires up the tiny coffee roaster inside our hearts. Enjoy your books, friend! ☕️
